Dad tries One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner by Scrubbing Bubbles

As a stay-at-home dad who does the shopping, cooking and cleaning; I want to do whatever I can to make my time and family budget work as efficiently as possible.     A couple months ago I started using a new product from Scrubbing Bubbles that is supposed to all but eliminate the need for a toilet brush.   The manufacturer didn’t ask me to write this up.  Occasionally, I’ll write reviews on products that may or may not be helpful to busy households.

The One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner has a double meaning.  You clean the toilet by stepping on a foot pedal that’s located at the base of the unit.  Lightly stepping on the pedal once will make cleaning spray come out of the container, which will be sprayed 360 around the underside of the toilet.

Overall the product did a very good job.  My wife liked it much more than I did and said that “it was a 100% improvement on the smell” in the bathroom.  It smells fresh, like a mountain rain; that sounds like a bad greeting card out take, but it’s the closest I can get to a describing the smell.

Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner has a great smell and cleans the toilet.  However, there were two issues that kept me from entirely loving the product.

The directional sprayer often comes loose

Because I’m a man, I raise the toilet set to use the bathroom.  I then lower the seat when I’m done so that my wife doesn’t fall into the toilet.

When I would raise and lower the toilet seat the directional sprayer would shift up a little bit.  This causes the spray to hit the bottom of the toilet seat instead of the toilet bowl.

After a couple weeks I realized that the sprayer was doing this.  Now I have to put the toilet seat down more carefully in order to keep the sprayer where it’s located.

The directional sprayer is too tempting a target

Because I’m a man, ahem…, target practice is a difficult thing to overcome.  As the Scrubbing Bubbles thing has been on the toilet bowl lip for a while I’m somewhat used to it, but still accidently ‘take out the enemy’ on occasion.

Is this the toilet brush killer?
The test Is this the toilet brush killer?

Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner doesn’t eliminate the need to scrub the toilet, but it does lessen the number of times that you have to clean it.  My wife really likes the product.  Even with my two issues with the product I can say that it has more pros than cons and does help me keep the bathroom cleaner.
