Our cats and dogs loved the treats from Mr. Chewy.com –and giveaway!

When my wife married me she knew that she’d get all of my bad habits, large comic book collection, as well as Wilson, Abby, Ripley and Gianni.  Wilson and Abby are our two retrievers and Ripley and Gianni are the two cats that I rescued from a box when they were only a couple weeks old.  When I got the chance to review Mr.Chewy.com it was as natural a fit as cat hair on the sofa.

Wilson is an older golden retriever who is highly motivated by treats.  Abby is a slightly younger flat coat retriever who has three legs.  Because she is missing a front leg it is important to keep her weight maintained in addition to helping her joints stay healthy.  With these older and joint oriented issues we searched the Mr. Chewy.com website through the “Lifestage” and “Specialty” category.

The Mr. Chewy.com website was really easy to navigate.  I searched through all things dog and then did another search through the categories, just to be sure I didn’t forget any needs or tastes.  Wilson is a ‘bone’ dog, while Abby    is more of a ‘treat’ dog and we got each of them a couple of treats.

Our cats aren’t really ‘treat’ pets.  They need cat litter and food obviously, but as they’re older cats-and missing a couple teeth, treats aren’t something they crave.  Having said that I did get them some frozen shrimp treats and meat snacks for their joints.  Proving that you never truly know cats, they like the treats.  They don’t respond to the opening of the bag like the dogs, but they eat them up when I put them on the counter, yummy.

Mr. Chewy has over 70 brands and has free shipping on orders more than $49.  The shipping was lightening fast, I ordered Thursday afternoon and all of the merchandise arrived on Saturday.  They’ve also got a referral program for bloggers.  When I went shopping the prices were the same or cheaper than the big box pet stores.   Another plus is that I didn’t have to go isle to isle to compare products or worry about my child knocking over a fish bowl.
