Win tickets to Georgia Aquarium for a family of 4

Every city has its peaks and valleys.  One of the peaks of living near Atlanta is being so close to Georgia Aquarium.  We have annual passes there and visit at least once a month.  I also worked at the world’s largest theme park (Walt Disney World) for a couple of years and know a thing or two about getting the most out of a visit to an attraction.   With spring break coming up here are some tips and a chance to win tickets to Georgia Aquarium for a family of 4.

The Georgia Aquarium family 4 pack ticket giveaway

Avoid the funnel

The funnel is the area after you leave an exhibit.  People are usually in awe of what they’ve just seen or experienced and aren’t sure where to go next.  Avoid this area.  When you’re leaving an exhibit, even if you don’t know where you’re going-go somewhere.  Go 30 feet out and figure it out, but get out of the way of the exit so you don’t delay people still in there or folks who are walking in the atrium.

Try to avoid the small gift shop

There are two gift shops at Georgia Aquarium.  One of them you have to pass through to exit the building and the other one is near the dining area.  Try to avoid the small gift shop that is located near the dining area.  Our two boys and I usually get a snack halfway through our visit and they always try to go over there.  They want to buy this, play with that, I get frustrated, they need a distraction and I just want to take them to see some fish.  Try as hard as you can to avoid the small gift shop.

Go early, be patient or go late

If we can’t get there early, like when they about to open then we pack our patience.  If there is no choice then we’ll try to arrive about 3 hours before they close.    Even when there are lines at Georgia Aquarium that aren’t too long, but may frustrate small people and increase the chances of them getting lost.

Avoid the school groups

If you go to Georgia Aquarium while school is in session this is challenging to do.  However, if you see a big group of kids going to one exhibit, simply go to another one.  If you’re doing a staycation and going over spring break there won’t be any school groups.

Most relaxing area:  the big room in Ocean Voyager

Busiest area for kids:  Tie  Georgia Explorer and Cold Water Quest

Enjoy your time at Georgia Aquarium and good luck!  The winner will be notified and their name will be at the box office there.
