The #WhyWeightPledge with Purina Cat Chow, 4/23 8-9 PM ET, prizes and cat chat

A good ole cat chat, it’s why the internet was invented.  As someone who used to work on the administrative side for an animal shelter, pet owner and social media guy the #WhyWeightPledge that Purina Cat Chow is doing is near and dear to me.  58% of the nation’s cats are overweight.  An overweight cat has a shorter life span and it’s all controllable.

The #WhyWeightPledge twitter party with Purina Cat Chow

The Purina Cat Chow #WhyWeightPledge is about asking cat owners to take a moment to determine if their cat is at the ideal weight.  When you take the pledge you’ll get a free sample of Purina Cat Chow and when they reach 100,000 pledges Purina will donate $50,000 to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention.

The event is hosted by @StacieInAtlanta and @ToneItUp.  It’s co-hosted by @CatsOutOfTheBag, @Crissy, @JollyMom, @DrErnieWard and us.  Be sure to follow everyone prior to the #WhyWeightPledge party and use the hash tag during conversation.

The #WhyWeightPledge twitter party on April 23 from 8-9 PM ET will immediately start off with a prize giveaway of a year’s supply of Purina Cat Chow Healthy Weight and a Purina Cat Chow Prize Pack.  During the twitter party we’ll give away 3-$50 American Express gift cards-and a 3 month supply of Purina Cat Chow Healthy Weight and a Purina Cat Chow Prize Pack.  The grand prize winner will receive a $100 American Express gift card and a 6 month supply of Purina Cat Chow Healthy Weight, plus a Purina Cat Chow Prize Pack!

Entry into the #WhyWeightPledge twitter part is simple.  Just fill out the Linky, attend the party, use the hashtag and you’re good to go.

For good karma you can also RT this message to get more cat and pet folks into the fold that could either learn about #WhyWeightPledge or simply win some Purina Cat Chow.

I’m being compensated for this post and the twitter party.  All thoughts are our own and we really do love cats.  Two of ours recently pranced across the rainbow bridge.  They’re chasing lazy mice while living in a red barn near a brisk stream with big rocks so that they can cross to the other side right now.
