Cartoon Network Holiday Collection DVD, age appropriate merriment

Even if you don’t have cable you know Cartoon Network and their staple shows.  Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball are some of the network’s biggest shows, available on Roku or other streaming networks and children, especially boys, love them.  Throw in those shows, a bonus episode from Clarence and Steven Universe and Christmas and you’ve got goofiness and fun for the right ages.

Cartoon Network Holiday Collection DVD

I say the right ages because these cartoons are awesome, but might be too much for those under 6.  They’re not too rude by any measure, but if your child hasn’t learned to stick out their tongue or do mildly annoying things then aspects of these shows will do that.  Generally speaking, this type of humor represents the most popular shows on their network for ages 6-14.  It’s cartoons, Christmas, holiday, but edgier than the network classics.

They are entertaining, a little weird and will make you smile, laugh or if you’re over 30 possibly confused.   Disclosure:  I’m over 30 and while I wasn’t confused, the manic pacing and fast cuts did make me think for a moment.  Having said that, I especially liked The Christmas Special from Regular Show.

This is a nice stocking stuffer DVD that only costs about $9 and when you factor in the per cost episode that’s a good price for a themed disc of good age-appropriate animation, even if mom and dad don’t really understand it.

The Cartoon Network Holiday Collection DVD has a running time of 77 minutes and is good for viewers 6 and up.
