Nerd Block Jr. delivers the (geeky) goods for children 6-11

I love the concept of this and they’re quite trendy at the moment aren’t they?  A mystery package appears in your mailbox stuffed with goodies that you’re all but guaranteed to like.  In this case we got to sample Nerd Block Jr.  It’s a box with all manner of pop culture toys that is aimed at children 6 and up.

The shipping label is on the front of the box and has all of the goodies inside.  A typical Nerd Block Jr. might have stuff from Marvel, KRE-O, Star Wars, DC Comics, Nintendo, Jinx or others that they’ll recognize.

One reason why our 5 year old enjoyed his Nerd Block Junior is that it contained so much stuff.  It was one box with 6 things and most of those things needed to be opened as well.  Have you see those YouTube videos that people opening eggs?  The most popular person who does that earns over 4 million a year and our son loves watching them.

Three of the things in his Nerd Block Jr. were egg shaped containers that required him to open them.  He loved that.  Two of them were Harry Potter figurines, while the third was a Transformers squeeze ball with an Optimus Prime head.  The kit also had an Avengers first aid kit with band-aids.   Our youngest loved that.  This is a true traveling tip, if you’re taking a toddler on an airplane band aids or stickers will entertain them for hours on the plane.

The rest of our Nerd Block Junior was a KRE-O figure that we assembled.  It consisted of 7 pieces and was doable by our 5 year old with a little oversight from us.

Every Nerd Block Jr. is geared towards children 6-11, costs $13.99 and is different every month.  They have a boys version and a girls version.  On their site it says subscription, but don’t let that intimidate you because you can cancel the orders at any time.  It could make a really unique birthday gift for that young geek that we all want our kids to become.  Every block comes with a t-shirt in their size and 4-6 items for them to dig into, play, wear, read or throw.
