LivingSocial, local date nights and more #Giveaway #Gift2TalkAbout

This is a sponsored post from LivingSocial. We were compensated and all thoughts are our own. My wife is a doer, I say that with the utmost sincerity. By that I mean that for those ‘special occasions’ she likes to do something.  We haven’t done dance lessons yet, but that’s probably on her radar or things that she’ll ‘hint’ my way when the next anniversary or birthday rolls around. For these times she hops on LivingSocial to check the deals closest to us and jumps onboard. If you (or your spouse) do this, then read on about the $50 giveaway in Deal Bucks we’re giving away. If not, read on as to why they rock and are a date night that saves you big money off of where the night is normally.

For our most recent anniversary she asked me how I felt about making my own sushi. I said that I’d like to try it and she signed us up for a LivingSocial deal that cost $49. Had we not gone through LivingSocial it would’ve cost $100. It was a sushi class that was taught by a local restaurant owner who does some sushi teaching on the side. She was a sushi master, spent years in training, lived in southeast Asia for a long time and went into great detail about its history and preparation.

It was dinner, a show and some education. A great 3-hour night out that included dinner, a couple drinks, a high quality date night and instructions on how we could prepare our own sushi. This wasn’t just sushi, it was fresh sushi, that they purchased locally (told us where to buy it) and gave us a shopping list for everything on the menu that was prepared that night.

The frugal part of me also loved that it was purchased at 50% off. Many of the deals on LivingSocial are at that level, some even more. A quick glance on the site just now found a place that could clean our HVAC ducts for 70% off, have a tea tasting for two for $21, hot yoga for 60% off, a helicopter tour for three at only $149, a smart phone screen replaced for $69 and dozens more.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

We had a screen replaced at a non-LivingSocial price last year and it cost $110. Ouch. That’s a $40 lesson or an approximate 35% overpayment that I did not need to do.

This is a shot from another restaurant that we ate out with on a deal. Going out is cool, going out and not paying retail is even better. It’s not just food and experiences-oil changes, as well as, things that you, your house or car need are listed there also.

The giveaway is for $50 in Deal Bucks from LivingSocial. All you’ll need is an account and the winner will be credited that amount to find an experience that meet your wants.  It’s a great chance to try something that you are curious about, revisiting a known favorite, getting some work done to the house, car or anything in the LivingSocial options.
