Health terminology 101 with UnitedHealthcare and win prize money

This is a sponsored post. All thoughts are our own. Three years ago I put off seeing a doctor because of the hassles and issues involving the process. When I finally saw them, they snipped, sampled, rushed it off to a lab and called me less than 48 hours later to let me know I had Melanoma. Well, hello Wednesday. It was caught early, but let that be a lesson that burying your head or saying that you’re too busy because it only hurts you. Healthcare education has evolved and UnitedHealthcare has a couple of options to make learning about it much more interesting.

The two interactive learning options that UnitedHealthCare has created are What’s The Word? and Are You A Health Plan Pro? They’re both entertaining ways that you can learn about healthcare and what might be the best avenue for you.  We all have different learning styles, as well as, ways that we like to have fun. For us Are You A Health Plan Pro? is the better option.

Are You A Health Plan Pro? has four stages of questions presented in various, engaging ways. The first part uses graphics and multiple choice questions. They appear simple-and some are, but take your time or you’ll be kicking yourself for unforced errors.

Do you know the difference between an HRA, FSA or HSA? They’re similar and the second part focuses on these three terms. Using a simple block on the left and concise bullet definitions on the right it’s up to you to drag the block to its definition.  Bonus: If you made any mistakes after hitting ‘submit your answers’ you’ll be able to correct them so that you’re learning as things go along.

The third portion is my kryptonite. It presents you with two situations and asks you to match up the premium to the out-of-pocket expenses.  There is also a slide configuration tool that lets you figure out which plan is best for a person with certain characteristics. Lastly you rank health care situations from least to most expensive.  Being very frugal we found this one simple. All we did was drag and drop the icons to their medical options from least to most expensive.

Once you’re done with that just put in your name, email and zip code for a chance to win. There will be a weekly contest winner of $100 and one monthly winner of $500; not bad for learning about UnitedHealthcare.

If you’re more of a puzzle person then there’s also a crossword puzzle with six blanks. As a bonus, this crossword puzzle refreshes, so if you make a mess up the first one the next one is different. Plus, each question has a hint that you can click on that will sure help you fill in the blanks correctly.   Folks who complete What’s The Word will be eligible to win a $50 weekly prize with a grand monthly prize of $400.

So, Are You A Health Plan Pro? or What’s The Word? Either way you’ll learn something about insurance from UnitedHealthcare in advance of having to determine your personal coverage options. And you just might win some cash in the process.
