Celebrate the holidays & Christmas with these shows on Netflix #StreamTeam

We’re part of the Stream Team for Netflix and were compensated or provided goods for this. All thoughts are our own. A holiday episode can be an obligatory thing for a television series. It can also serve as cliffhanger episode to lead viewers to the second half of the season. The episode doesn’t even need to mention Christmas. Sometimes it merely alludes to Christmas while directly referencing the greater ‘holidays’.  We found a sampling of some of our favorite holiday or Christmas episodes from cool television series that are currently on Netflix.

How I Met Your Mother, Season 2, Episode 11-How Lily Stole Christmas

How I Met Your Mother was a great show. The show wasn’t good for elementary school kids or lower middle school students. However, for audiences older than that it’s a very funny, laugh out loud show about friendship, relationships and life. Everyone has the character that they identify with the most and for many it’s Lily. Actress  Alyson Hannigan certainly had a fan base that followed her from Buffy The Vampire Slayer and this particular episode really highlights her comedic skills.

New Girl, Season 2, Episode 11-Santa

This episode from New Girl is one that I still remember years after originally seeing it. “Santa” also represents a great entry from what, for us, was the best season of the show. It’s funny, slightly bitter sweet and has things that any teen and older will identify with.

Coca-Cola, getting it done for Veterans for 75 years

We were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own.   This year the intersection of The Coca-Cola Company, the United States military and the United Service Organizations (USO) all have in common the number 75, but for different reasons. The USO celebrates their 75th anniversary and it also marks that same number of years that The Coca-Cola Company has partnered with the organization and been committed to supporting the United States military.

Getting in the dress up spirit with PJ Masks Halloween Party

“I’m going as Owlette”, she said. Well, that’s one reason why those two are such good friends, I thought to myself.  Our oldest was leaving science club as he was having a conversation with her. PJ Masks is a popular topic of conversation at the early elementary school level. Being that it’s Halloween time the PJ Masks costumes will certainly be front and center at your door this year.

EEK! Halloween!, a Boynton board book that will last generations

The rule in our house is that there only a couple author’s books that we can get rid of. It’s not that we want to get rid of any books, but due to age, space or children’s interest it’s simply impossible to keep them all. Sandra Boynton is one of those authors whose books we can’t get rid of. Granted some of her  board books have had to be recycled because the spine was compromised and the pages were chewed through. EEK! Halloween! is her latest board book and if our children were younger I would worry for its safety.

Becoming a dad didn’t totally end my arrested development. #ThanksBaby

I have partnered with Life of Dad  and Pampers for this promotion Before marrying my wife I was a cartoon of a man. I used a bandana for a wallet, cleaned the house with a leaf blower, lived in a house that I was renovating as a snail’s pace and had garbage in my car that was inches deep. It would be comforting to say that this occurred when I was in my early 20’s. However, add ten+ years to that figure and that is where this happy man-child was.  Age, the pursuit of my girlfriend (who became my wife!) and the entrance of a child helped my case of arrested development erode to where I’m a better man, as well as, a great husband and father, so #ThanksBaby.

Last minute Mother’s Day gift pickup at Sears for the last woman I’ll ever pick up

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Life of Dad and Sears. I have received compensation for this post; however, all opinions stated are my own. To be clear, the last woman that I’ll ever pick up was done about 15 years ago. She was wearing a Santa hat and we were at a fundraiser that some friends and I organized to raise money for animal shelters. Over time something’s have changed in our relationship, but one constant is that I do not like shopping. To that end Sears has launched a new service that allows you to shop on your smart phone, arrange for local pickup and then have the item delivered to your car as you wait outside. Sure this weekend is Mother’s Day; but the real gift for me is not having to go into the mall with the kids.

The Summer Movie Express 2016 schedule for Regal Cinema is out. This is a big deal. The $1 summer movies happen twice a week at your local Regal Cinema location. The movie times might vary from theater to theater, but the movies will remain the same-and every single one of them is great for kids 6 and older. Each film will be rated G or PG.
