Bug-A-Salt fires salt and your flyswatter to kill flies dead-giveaway

The Bug-A-Salt is a very clever product, with a great name that should only be used by adults.  That is worth mentioning because our oldest loves, absolutely loves to chase flies around the house with a flyswatter.  Hilarity ensues, but the fly always wins as he goes off to tell his friends about our wonderful garbage.  The Bug-A-Salt is a pump activated device that fires salt when you pull the trigger.  Flies die, there is no splatter and you feel like Private Hudson from Aliens.

Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light 2 is super simple & light-giveaway

Growing up my father used to say “you’re not holding your mouth right”, when I was trying to do something but not succeeding.  It was always a seemingly simple task that proved frustrating because it looked like it should be happening, but wasn’t.  Putting up a pack and play is like that, especially the middle bar that folds in half.  Enter the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light 2.  Coming in at only 11 pounds it’s the lightest, easiest travel crib we’ve ever used.

The Baby Neptune Ocean Orchestra: great sound, interactive and fun

As I mentioned, we love Baby Eisnstein.  We had an earlier version of the Baby Neptune Ocean Orchestra when our oldest was just a baby.  While the toy was fun and played some nice classical music, it wasn’t anything remarkable.  “How much could they really improve a device?”, I thought before I opened this up.  This toy is cool, the sound is crisp and the lights are vivid.

A look at Transformers Age of Extinction toys for small children

Our kids are getting older, as they do, and some of the brands and toys that I grew up with are entering their radar. The eldest is 4 and while he’s too young to watch the Transformers movies, he’s good-to-go on some of the toys and knows a bit about them from Transformers Rescue Bots.  With Transformers Age of Extinction coming out there is a slew of new toys coming out, here’s a look at some that are good for younger children.

X-O Manowar #26-immediately enjoyable on many levels

Here is what I knew about this comic prior to reading it: nothing.  But I was looking for something new and different that would have enough action and story to keep me curious while enjoying the art.  X-O Manowar #26 is great for action comic fans looking for something fresh.

Baby Einstein Ocean Exploration Play Pad: great quality, but too loud

We love us some Baby Einstein in this house.  When our oldest was first born we stocked up on anything Baby Einstein that we could find at a certain price point.  Some of it came from garage sales and some new from the stores, depending on what it was.  The Ocean Exploration Play Pad from Baby Einstein combines elements of previous activities for babies.  It’s a great interactive learning tool that’s missing one key thing-a volume switch.

Car and computer problems.  Both of them stop our day’s cold in their tracks and piss us off royally.  Why today?  It may not be a good day for either of them; but the day that it happens-when you’re not expecting seems like the worst day for it ever.   Then something major happens and you wish for car or computer problems.  A friend to the blogging community is going through something like that, stage 4 Cancer, here’s his story and how you can help.

Slugterra: Ghoul From Beyond-new on DVD

Slugterra is weird.  That’s what I thought when I read the premise.  A 15 year old yearns for his father to take him to Slugterra where he can become The Shane, protector of the underworld.  To be clear, that’s the underground world, not the underworld where zombies live.   However, when his father goes missing Eli goes to Slugterra to protect it.  Slugterra: Ghoul From Beyond picks up after Eli has defeated a major bad guy, but things aren’t going so well.
