Kids eat for free at Denny’s on Tuesday, 4-10, #DennysDiner

Hey there, we’re a Denny’s Ambassador and were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own. Summer! Summer is when a kid can be a kid. It means playing in the pool for hours, making up games in the backyard and exercising until you’re called to come inside and eat. For us on Tuesdays it means eating at Denny’s because from 4-10 kids eat for free.

For every paying adult, two children can eat for free at Denny’s on Tuesday from 4-10. The kids can pick out an entrée from the kid’s menu and dig into it with abandon. In addition to all of the food that they choose from it’s got a word search, some cool Shrek, Croods and Puss In Boots graphics and games.

That is if they can stay awake for the meal. Our youngest was quite hungry, that’s why we left the pool actually. He kept saying that he was hungry and wanted to go eat now. Knowing the patience level of a four year old is compromised we quickly left, but it wasn’t quick enough…..

This was when our oldest sensed his opportunity. “Can we get ice cream?” I assured him that we could get ice cream, as long as we got a chocolate shake for his brother. Because we received two free children’s meals during this time I ordered one for Rip Van Winkle-who slept all the way through his brother’s ice cream.

As if on cue he started to stir when I asked for the check. His meal was boxed up, ready to go and I had sampled his to-go chocolate shake to ensure that it met our rigorous standards. It did, but sadly half of it was eaten by me before he woke up. In our house we simply call that a tax. In this case it was a daddy tax, but he was too groggy from the nap to notice half of it was gone.

Back in the car he started to color the Denny’s kid’s menu that he didn’t get the chance to in the restaurant. Gripping the crayons in a way that his brother couldn’t reach them we headed home. He put them down from time to time to eat some of his mac n’cheese and taunted his brother with his half eaten chocolate shake.
