Free Date Night Ideas for this week in Alpharetta

Living in Alpharetta presents people with lots of things to do on date night.  We have a rule in our house that date night must occur at least once a month.  If we get lucky then date night will happen more than once and if we get super lucky then it’ll be a free date night!  This week in Alpharetta presents frugal couples with multiple options to get their date on, while saving a bit of cash.

Welcome to Alpharetta

  1. Watch the sunset at your favorite location. Make a picnic and walk – yes walk – to where you think you can see the sunset the best. Very romantic.
  2. Have a friendly competition. Whether a quick tennis game or some Frisbee golf over at Wills Park, a little competition is sure to bring some fun!
  3. Hit the trails! Go for a bike ride along the Greenway.
  4. Take a brewery tour. Alpharetta’s Five Seasons Brewery offers Free Brewery Tours on the 1st Thursday of Every Month. Stop by the hostess stand or call to reserve your space at 404.255.5911.*
  5. Attend Alpharetta Food Truck Alley! Weekly gathering takes place on Old Roswell Street with a variety of rotating food trucks and music. Approximately 10-12 food trucks will roll out some amazing eats with seating available on the street, but since this is FREE, BYO food and drinks!
Note:  October 24 is the final one this year.  Because of that it will be much bigger than usual.  There will be a Skylanders SWAP Force video game truck at the event where people can play for free!  The Skylanders SWAP Force video game truck is being sponsored by Daddy Mojo and Alex N Sis, a local children’s clothing store.
  6. Go Geocaching! We would love to try geocaching – a real world treasure hunt. Apparently it is a lot of fun and there are some located in Alpharetta.
  7. Go fishing on the Chattahoochee. If you catch a fish, cook it for dinner!
  8. Go to Movies off Main. Sponsored by the city, the movies begin at dusk on a large inflatable screen on Old Roswell Street behind Smokejack and The Treehouse at Sis & Moon; 24 Milton Avenue, Alpharetta, GA 30009. Warm Bodies is the final movie for this year, showing October 25.
  9. Educate yourselves with a fruit growing workshop. Nothing is better than the taste of fresh fruit straight from your backyard! Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  The class will be held at the City of Alpharetta Engineering/Public Works Department, 1790 Hembree Road.

*You can also tour Jeckyll Brewing.  Tickets are $12, but that includes a tasting session with six tickets and Jeckyll Brewing glass.
