I love my Roku. We disconnected cable many months ago, purchased one and live off NetFlix, the occasional Hulu and sometimes live TV. The benefit of this is that we’ve discovered dozens of new shows. I finally get Doctor Who now, which in turn led me to Torchwood (even better) and the new Star Trek movie led me to Sherlock. Continue reading Dad Spends a Night in the Mancave: Sherlock is top notch

Iron Man 3 is less Iron, more Man-but very entertaining
The next movie after an excellent movie is challenging. Iron Man 3 and The Dark Knight Rises should go bowling. They’d talk about how great they were, mention their previous entries and then Iron Man mentions that his previous movie was actually The Avengers. Then Batman would laugh, talk about the Justice League Movie (yeah…right) and Iron Man would go on talking about Avengers 2. Continue reading Iron Man 3 is less Iron, more Man-but very entertaining

Thunderbolts #8, continues to disappoint despite great characters
Thunderbolts should be a comic that I can’t wait to receive in the mail. The first issue started out strong. A rag tag group of anti-heroes, Red Hulk, The Punisher, Elecktra, Deadpool and Venom team up to solve problems that other entities or superheroes can’t. Unfortunately since the 4th issue of Thunderbolts it’s dragged and the art has gotten too big and clunky. Continue reading Thunderbolts #8, continues to disappoint despite great characters
Watching Oblivion is not the end of the world-you’ll really like it.
End of the world and time travel movies are fascinating because, unless they’re really horrible, they look OK from one angle or the other. There is also the steampunk element that make them visually fun, when done right. Oblivion is an end the world movie that’s been compared to a live action version of WALLE. My ride on the #despicablimp
There are things that I never knew I wanted to do until I was presented with the opportunity to do them. After being provided with the opportunity to ride the #despicablimp I knew that this would be one of those things. A. It’s a blimp, and the only time you ever see those things is at major sporting events. B. It’s a Despicalbimp in the shape of a Minion from Despicable Me.
It’s a blimp and a cartoon character. If they served bacon on the flight I would’ve signed up for anything to allow the experience not to end. Continue reading My ride on the #despicablimp
Operation Storm is vivid, approachable history at its best
The Hunt for Red October is based on a true story. What if there was an even bigger story out there involving submarines; that is 100% true and would’ve altered the course of the world had things not happened? Imagine a super submarine, capable of carrying aircraft and that is a game changer. That is exactly what the Japanese built and had deployed just before WWII ended.
