Forever My Girl, in theaters 1/19, a second chance at date night

This is a sponsored post. All thoughts are our own. Forever My Girl is a new film arriving in theaters on January 19. If you’re behind quota on date night and looking for a sign, this is it. Forever My Girl looks like the kind of film that is squarely aimed at the country music crowd who arrived at movie theaters through the romantic isle. Watching the trailer for this brings to mind how thankful we are to not be in the dating game.

Dig these classic moms on Netflix #StreamTeam

Hey, we’re part of the #StreamTeam for Netflix and were compensated for this post. Having said that, all thoughts are our own and these shows are off the chain. Hello Mother’s Day! This time of year always gets me thinking about the moms that are most influential in my life and the classic moms on Netflix. These are the moms that, for better or worse, are awesome. Some of the moms I grew up with and a couple are more current, but whose personality and bravado make for incredible viewing.

Netflix, mom, mother’s day, the wonder years, harry and the hendersons, E.T., Arrested development, breaking bad, everybody loves Raymond, Gilmore girls, the andy Griffith show.

Sometimes it’s as simple as a kind word

I’m a Sisterhood of the Motherhood Partner and was compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own. Many times, OK, quite often, my wife is correct. Husbands, it’s OK for you to say that, ditto the wives out there, your husband is quite often, correct. We were at the dinner table the other day with the children when I sarcastically entered into a conversation that we needed to have. I forget what started it, but the crux of the conversation was simply telling the other one something nice about them.

We say ‘please’, ‘thank you’ and other pleasantries around the house. That’s just basic manners that we want our children to learn after us. To quote the wrestling philosopher, Ric Flair, ‘talk the talk, walk the walk’.

I Love Lucy I ♥ Mom Edition, timeless comedy for all

When I was a kid I Love Lucy was on television in the afternoons. I remember it was sometime before Wild Wild West and after Lancelot Link Secret Chimp. There aren’t too many episodes of I Love Lucy that I distinctly remember. As a child the black and white seemed to throw my attention elsewhere. As an adult watching the special four episode collection, I ♥ Mom, I understand why I Love Lucy is one of the classic sitcoms of all time.

Drive an exotic sports car on a racetrack near Atlanta, really

Cars are expensive.  Exotic sports cars are even more expensive.  Driving an exotic sports car is something that I, along with most of my friends have wanted to do.  As most (see: none) of our friends have an Aston Martin, McLaren, Lamborghini or Ferrari that they’ll let us rip wide open I guess it’s up to Xtreme Xperience to put me in the driver’s seat.

Win tickets to Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion-in theaters for only 1 showing

I remember seeing Star Wars with my dad in the theater.  That was back in the day and he wasn’t too jazzed about it.  Granted he was probably happy to hang out with me and that I was so happy to go.  It’s a different scene now.  On Saturday, September 27 at 10:45 there will be a one-time showing of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion at Atlantic Station.
