The DJI Global Mavic Mini, approachable hobby drone with pro features, #ad

This is a sponsored post from Best Buy, all thoughts are our own. Being the dad to two boys we know a little about drones. They’re the toys we always wanted when we were a kid, but the technology just wasn’t there yet. We used to go to the park where the hobbyists were flying their airplanes. A couple of kids were out there, but mainly it was the dads or those much older kids. Drones have changed that perception to where there are competitions, apps designed just for them and social platforms where you can share ideas or locations. The DJI Global Mavic Mini is a drone that’s priced for the hobbyist, yet has the professional features that have previously only been on high end models.

For us the feature that sticks out initially is the 30-minute flying time. A fully-charged battery will keep it up in the air for that long. That amount of time is longer than similar FlyCams that are on the consumer level. On the consumer level….. You’ve seen those super high end drones that cost as much as a mortgage payment. The DJI Global Mavic Mini is in the same vein diagram on their features, specifically the fun and performance features that you’ve always wanted.

I say gimbal you visualize something that you hold that places your camera and pivots it around on a ball. The DJI Global Mavic Mini allows you to bring the art that you knew you could see from a bird’s eye view and captures it with 12MP aerial photos and 2.7K Quad HD videos. The kicker is that it does this on a 3-axis motorized gimbal. The result from this will be the smoothest, clearest videos of whatever you’re shooting that you’ve ever seen.

Don’t be intimidated by the cinematic capacities either. You can choose Mavic Mini’s QuickShot mode, which has multiples modes to shoot from that can be selected from the preset motions. Yes, there are free range options, but there are also built-in programs that the drone can do on its own, with the push of a button.

Any drone pilot or person who saw Return of the Jedi visualizes the Speeder Bike Chase. Navigating between tight spaces is the stuff of legend and this sequence can be done easily using CineSmooth Mode. This slows down the flight speed and movements, which allow you more precision and stability when you’re flying through the canyon or in complex spaces.

And speaking of controlling your drone-how about a real-time remote controller that can operate the video feed at a distance of up to 4K? 4K seems more appropriate to the resolution of a television instead of the distance from which you can control a drone. Another great design feature about the controller is that the control sticks are detectable and can be stored inside the unit. This is big drone performance in a compact, mini-sized body that will produce all of the professional looking views and moves that you’ve wanted to.
