It is early fall and there’s a swarm of small, peppery specks flying around our kitchen. They’re fruit flies are they are making their new abode at chez Mojo more comfortable. My first thought of fruit flies went to the outbreak in 1989 (and others); but after a little research I realized that the ones in my kitchen were a bit different from those pesky creatures. Wreck It Ralph is the most entertaining animated movie since Toy Story
I know what you’re thinking. What about Up, WALL E OR Toy Story 2 or 3? Yes, I saw all of those and they are marvelous. However, they weren’t as overall entertaining as Wreck It Ralph. Continue reading Wreck It Ralph is the most entertaining animated movie since Toy Story
Don’t judge a beef jerky eating, Harley rider by his cover
I’ve always wanted a pipe wrench. The name sounds tough, combining two rugged words that make one super jagged word that actually serves a purpose and is made of steel? That is bordering on testosterone overload. I have a pair of Channel Lock pliers. They do roughly the same thing as a pipe wrench. But if a pipe wrench is Chuck Norris, a pair of Channel Lock pliers is John Stamos. Continue reading Don’t judge a beef jerky eating, Harley rider by his cover
Sears/Kmart #WWEchat Twitter party, 11/6, 1-2 PM, EST
Boom, it’s rescheduled and back with board breaking vengeance. The Sears/Kmart #WWEchat twitter party, 11/6 from 1-2 EST. $1,000 in gift card prizes, bring the pain.
I grew up on wrestling. It was Hulkamania during the heyday with a healthy dose of Jake the Snake and Macho Man on the side. Just this past spring before Wrestlemania my wife and I watched a documentary that had a behind the scenes look at John Cena and The Rock. It was great because it reminded you that (sometimes) a WWE Champion is a genuinely good guy with humble roots and out to entertain the crowds. Pre-order MIB3 and watch it before it comes out on video #SEEMIB3
I remember the first time I saw a commercial about a DVR. ‘Wait, I can record live programs on TV, rewind them, watch them and it’s all done with this little box? ” Now recording TV is passé. The new hotness is streaming movies before they’re released and receiving a Blu-ray copy of it when it’s officially released. Continue reading Pre-order MIB3 and watch it before it comes out on video #SEEMIB3
Sears Gifts for Guys: Twitter Party, Fri. 10/26, 1:00- $800 in prizes
Guys can be a hard group to purchase gifts for, I should know, I’m a guy. Until recently my default answers for “What should I get you for…” was socks and underwear-true story. One holiday my wife said, I’m not getting you socks or underwear, just tell me something that you want or need. It was then that I got much better about the communication of gifting. A side benefit of said conversation is that I now get much better gifts, but I have to buy my own socks and underwear. #1 and #3 of 18 Summers: Curiosity and finding our legs
In May I went to Disney Social Media Moms. It’s a social media conference at Walt Disney World that helps bloggers think, be creative, have fun and meet other family bloggers. Authors, social media folks and a couple of Walt Disney employees all spoke to us on a variety of things. One of the speakers, Amy Foster from Disney Park Insight mentioned “18 summers”. Little Tikes around my house-and children too
We’re three years into children and like an athlete that starts a new sport we’ve noticed collections starting to appear. There is the collection of balls, all different sizes and colors that go to different toys, but now just end up in a big pile called “Balls”. In another part of the house there’s a box of plastic figures and spread out over the house (and in the garage) are assorted toys from Little Tikes.
