Medikidz Explain Seizure Assistance Dogs, a medical comic book kids can relate to

Medikidz is a series of comic books that explain medical conditions.  What is impressive about the series is that they potentially complex conditions in ways that children can relate to and understand.  We received their current comic book Medikidz Explain Seizure Assistance Dogs to look over and it does do a great job breaking down what a seizure is and how an assistance dog can help children with Epilepsy.

Terrible Lizard from Oni Press, an awesome all ages comic with teeth

For fans of all ages comic books Terrible Lizard has lots to love.  Jess is lounging around at her father’s office, running around and getting into trouble.  Her father is a scientist and the reason for their work is about to come snarling out from a temporal displacement experiment. Terrible Lizard works as a comic and an all ages comic for young reader because of  lots of reasons that leaves us looking forward to the second issue.

Planet Gigantic #1 review: all ages galactic comic book fun

Planet Gigantic #1 has something for every all ages comic reader.  The main story focuses on two teenagers with special powers who crash land on a strange planet.  There is a separate story that is almost as interesting Lyana looking for a magical eye.  Both stories have female heroes, enough action to satisfy all readers and they both deal with consequences, as well as taking risks.

Oddly Normal #2 is fantasy driven, all ages comic anyone can enjoy

Oddly Normal is a ten-year old girl who is half witch.  Her dad is from Earth while her mom is from a magical land called Fignation.  The comic has aspects of The Wizard of Oz in addition to more contemporary fantasy elements.   Oddly Normal stands out as an all ages comic book because of a couple elements that no other comic currently has.

The StoryTeller Witches #2 by Archaia continue to impress

This is the second issue of four in Jim Henson’s The StoryTeller Witches.  The first one was great and I was skeptical if the second could continue the journey.  It does.  The StoryTeller Witches are four standalone tales of witches that are in the same vein as The StoryTeller series back in the late 80’s. Back then it was a TV show, now it’s a comic book mini-series.

Adventure Time #32 is (almost) all age comic weirdness

Kaboom Studios makes some of the best all age comic books on the market.  From Garfield, Herobear, Peanuts to Regular Show and others they put out a great variety of books.  Adventure Time is as inventive, creative, weird and wonderful as the television show.  There is nothing objectionable to young readers and the sole reason for putting (almost) in the title is that younger readers won’t be able to follow the plot.

The Storyteller Witches #1, dreamy all ages art makes Jim Henson proud

The Storyteller Witches #1 is an interesting comic.  It has Jim Henson’s name above it and is published by Archaia, who handles all of the Fraggle Rock comics, so the bar and fond memories are set high.  Think Dark Crystal and this is in the same vein.  Better yet, think The Storyteller television series that Henson created from the late 80’s and you have a much better idea of the tone and expectations of The Storyteller Witches #1.
