Big Blastin’ Rocket Raccoon review: action figure or collectible?

Big Blastin’ Rocket Raccoon is 10” of smack talking genetically modified plastic raccoon that moves when his gun fires.  Press his leg or the button on this gun and his torso will shake forward while the gun lights up.  This is a fun toy-and our kids love playing with it, but there is something about it that blurs my line between an action figure and collectible.

Peppa Pig: The Balloon Ride out on digital and DVD

The amount of British programming that our children watch almost qualifies us for dual citizenship. The latest cannon to enter our fray is Peppa Pig.  It’s huge in the UK as it’s been the number #1 pre-school property for the past four years and is utterly charming, for certain demographics.

The Pout Pout Fish Goes to School-a great rhyming good night book

The Pout Pout Fish Goes to School is the fourth book in the series of a fish trying to find his way.   Sometimes he’s a little grumpy or just doesn’t know what to make of these new situations.  It reminds a little bit of I Am So Brave, except longer with most of the words rhyming and repeating.  It’s also immediately catchy.  It took me one reading of The Pout Pout Fish Goes to School to enjoy it and understand how and why it would be enjoyable to our children.

Electric Football by Tudor Games review and giveaway #BlogPop

I don’t want a box phone from the 70’s.  However there is some tech from that era that still rocks, especially with a couple improvements.  Electric Football is like that.  That hum.  The way that the players vibrated, that hum and the fun that you and your friends yelling at the game.  Tudor Games has revamped Electric Football for a new age and the results are pretty cool.

Countablock, the best children’s counting book that we’ve seen

In November 2013 we reviewed Alphablock from these same authors and our headline was almost the same.  Countablock follows the same presentation that Alphablock did so well, except this time with numbers from 1 to 100.  It’s written by Christopher Franceschelli with the art by Peskimo.  Countablock is intended for ages 1-3, but our almost 5 year old loves it and don’t get tired of reading it to them either.
