Win #VicePrincipals, The complete First Season on DVD

Vice Principals is funny. From the first time I saw the trailer I knew that it could be funny and the show did not disappoint from its sizzle real and promise. Did you see it on HBO? The First Season of Vice Principals is out on DVD and we’re giving you a chance to win a copy of it.

Vice principals, HBO, vice principals the complete first season.

The two lead actors are what make Vice Principals such a funny, train wreck of a show. The show is intended for adults due to its language and humor. Walter Coggins and Danny McBride are just about perfect in their roles as Lee Russell and Neal Gamby. It’s a power struggle at a local high school with two very different types competing for the same job.

Win Vice Principals, The complete First Season on DVD

It’s a simple premise that delivers large belly laughs because every adult knows someone like these guys. The giveaway is for a copy of Vice Principals, The Complete First Season.

Cool things on Netflix with roots in comic books #StreamTeam

Hey, we’re part of the #StreamTeam on Netflix and were compensated for this-all thoughts are our own. We write lots of posts about comic books-have you noticed that? Another thing that we really love, as well as our children, is some quality television. We’ve been streaming our TV for almost five years now and it is fabulous. Let’s take a look at some of the shows on Netflix that have their roots in comic books. To be fair, it is a list much larger than those that we found, but these are some of the better ones, in addition to a couple that might fly below your radar.

Monopoly Token Madness ends 1/31, #MonopolyVote, #SaveScottie

January 31, 2017 is the last day to vote and this is an election where your vote really matters. It’s OK to be aggressively pro-candidate or anti-top hat, because this is all about Monopoly. Monopoly has opened up the fate of all their tokens to the internet. It’s like the Highlander, times 8, for there can be only 8 in #MonopolyVote.

Monopoly, save Scottie, Scottie, token

Simply go to their website and you’ll be shown all of the various tokens that people can choose from. Some of them you’ll recognize and have fond feelings for, like Scottie Dog, as well as other tokens that you’ll be hard pressed to remember.

The top 8 vote winners will be announced on March 13.

Vote today and #SaveScottie

Groupon Coupon, and other money saving tongue twisters #AD

This is a sponsored post-all thoughts are our own. Because saving money doesn’t need to be a pack activity, a Groupon Coupon is just the thing for a party of one, or more if you so desire. You know Groupon and how they leverage many folks who want to purchase this or that.  Did you know that they have a Coupon page that is jammed with offers at stores that work like a traditional coupon?

Groupon coupon, coupon, petco, amazon, scholastic, save money, money

It’s quite simple. All I did was go to the Groupon Coupon page (try saying that 5 times fast) and I saw a dozen or so of the top coupons on the site. At that moment they ranged from 65% off a Samsung TV, membership savings at Sam’s Club, up to 60% off at Petco, deals at Sears, 20% off clearance items at Nike and other ways to save cash.

Just like the TV hype man says-but wait-there’s more, you can search for Groupon Coupons by store. Victoria’s Secret, Target, Best Buy, Gap, KBell Socks (love those) and seemingly any named store was there and had a coupon that you could use. In the “K” store listings that you can browse through there appear to be over 300 stores on that page alone. If there’s a store that sells something that you like or need it’s most likely in there.

We just scanned the Scholastic Store and saw that they were selling the Jedi Academy books at 40% off.  Yikes,  the Force is strong with that middle grade kidlit deal. These deals from Groupon Coupon can change daily, so check back to see if the thing that you didn’t know that you needed is there for a steal of a price.

New all age comic books for February 1

Are you headed to the comic book store this week? There are lots of new all age comic books this week, some of which will appeal to kids as young as four years old. There are two milestones this week, issue #326 from Mickey Mouse and #50 from My Little Pony are out. Technically it’s issue #17 from Mickey Mouse, but they’re picking up the vintage numbering system from a couple of years ago when it stopped at 326. For My Little Pony it’s a whole new ride, issue #50 is thick with bright pages and presents the end of a story arc.

Two science fiction all age comic books that you’ll want to keep an eye out for are Invader Zim and Spookhouse. Spookhouse is from Eric Powell, who some adults might know from The Goon or Hillbily. If you know his work from those comics you should know that Spookhouse is entire OK for children. One look at the realistic monsters in this comic lets you know that they’re creepy and not the faux monsters that kids might encounter elsewhere. This is all age monster OK for kids 5 and up. For those on the younger set you’ll want to read it with them, but their older siblings will be able to read it by themselves and have a hoot.

My little Pony, all age comic books, hero cats, Donald duck, mickey mouse, comic books, invader zim,

Invader Zim #1 is being re-released for only $1! This comic book, based on the Nickelodeon show has fabulous science fiction art, a goofball story with aliens, heroes, space ships and a couple of cats.

Cats rule the internet and were worshipped in Egypt, you’ve seen the meme. Hero Cats is one of those all age comic books that simply gets better with more issues. Issue #15 out this week and really shows how much the action has increased since the series started. This one is all about Rocket and explores his origins. It also has the art by character creator Kyle Puttkammer.

This is also a busy week for Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Doctor Who and many others. Where is my closest comic book store? The music in the podcast is from Jessee Spilane over at Free Music Archive.

Did you listen to the Daddy Mojo podcast? If so, please give it a rating on whatever service brought you to the podcast-it’ll help more people know about this weekly feature as a comic book resource.

Our steakhouse, a story of love, power and good taste with Idahoan® Foods #Ad

I have partnered with Life of Dad and Idahoan® Foods for this campaign, but my opinions are my own.All I wanted was a relaxing night, a couple moments to create my own steakhouse vibe and I’m not alone in wanting this. In a recent survey a staggering 92% of parents wish it was easier to create that steakhouse experience at home. I want that and sometimes it happens without a hitch. We tried some Idahoan® Premium Steakhouse® Potato Soups, they’re mega simple to prepare (just add water), jammed with real red Idaho® potatoes, as well as, real potato skins and other goodies to pump up your taste buds. My reigning title of #KingOfSoup would not stand untested and I need your assistance. Sometimes a kitchen kingdom has a servant king, while other times needing a warrior king who brings a knife, as well as a large spoon for the textured soup.

Tales of Sasha is first grade early chapter books girls will love

Our oldest is a first grade reader now and it’s a great time for him. He glows when he’s able to read early chapter books on his own with little to no assistance. From time to time he’ll still jump into a really fun picture book and last weekend we even caught him reading one to his younger brother. It’s when he reads to himself-or in his head as he calls it, that he really shines. Tales of Sasha are a series of early chapter books from Little Bee Books that are tailor made for first through third grade young readers.
