Becoming a dad didn’t totally end my arrested development. #ThanksBaby

I have partnered with Life of Dad  and Pampers for this promotion Before marrying my wife I was a cartoon of a man. I used a bandana for a wallet, cleaned the house with a leaf blower, lived in a house that I was renovating as a snail’s pace and had garbage in my car that was inches deep. It would be comforting to say that this occurred when I was in my early 20’s. However, add ten+ years to that figure and that is where this happy man-child was.  Age, the pursuit of my girlfriend (who became my wife!) and the entrance of a child helped my case of arrested development erode to where I’m a better man, as well as, a great husband and father, so #ThanksBaby.

Kids eat for free at Denny’s on Tuesday, 4-10, #DennysDiner

Hey there, we’re a Denny’s Ambassador and were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own. Summer! Summer is when a kid can be a kid. It means playing in the pool for hours, making up games in the backyard and exercising until you’re called to come inside and eat. For us on Tuesdays it means eating at Denny’s because from 4-10 kids eat for free.

Denny’s, brothers, Tuesday, eat free at denny’s, kids eat free at dennys,

DIY do-over or dreaming, enter the #FixMyHouseSweeps from ServiceMaster

If you own a home there is a great chance that you’ve worked with ServiceMaster in one way or the other. The first home that I bought came with a warranty from American Home Shield that covered the component in the house like the plumbing, electrical, HVAC and much more. At our current home we’ve used Merry Maids and Terminix ensures that termites don’t think of the wood in our house as a snack. ServiceMaster is the parent company of these, as well as, AmeriSpec, Furniture Medic, SericeMaster Clean, ServiceMaster Restore and are having a contest for $2,000 in GE appliances each week through July 6 and a Grand Prize Drawing for $5,0000 in Home Depot gift cards.

ServiceMaster, GE appliances, home depot, merry maids, plumbing, DIY

Either of those prizes would go a long way toward either improving or renovating your home. When it comes to home repairs and renovations it’s important to know your limitations. According to a study done by ServiceMaster they discovered that 58% were unprepared to address any issues, 54% weren’t knowledgeable on how to fix it and 83% said that they wanted one resource that could fix everything.

Personally, I know not to even attempt electrical or plumbing.  I learned that through trial and error, mainly error. It’s always been safe, but the results did not have the professional appearance that you want.  Do you have a DIY project that didn’t turn out the way that you wanted it to? Do you have a project at the house that needs to be done?

Either way just take a photo of it and share it to ServiceMaster’s Facebook page. Be sure  to tag it #FixMyHouseSweeps and you are entered.

Hello friends, I have a doughnut

When you’re a parent there are a couple defining moments for your children. I don’t mean graduation from school, learning how to ride a bike or other benchmark happenings. Just like how an inside joke is sometimes funnier than the practiced classic gag, the offhand things that your children do that really expresses their personality can be the thing that parent remember forever. That happened to us the other week.

A simple trip to the supermarket led to a new catchphrase for our family, “Hello friends, I have a doughnut” and what it can teach us all.

Explore and play: vacationing with wiggle room

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Let’s Play, but all opinions are my own.

As a Let’s Play Ambassador I like to play. Having said that, I’ve always liked to play and have a very curious spirit. When I was single and travelling I enjoyed getting lost and have always liked being out of my element. Our family travel or vacations do not have the same vibe, but I still manage to discover side trips or activities that are not the main reason for why we’re going there.

Free Men’s Health Screening at Sam’s Club on 6/11

Hey, we were compensated by Sam’s Club, all thoughts are our own. This Saturday, June 11 your local Sam’s Club locations are having free men’s health screenings. Two of my main reasons for caring about my health are in that photo. To be clear, it’s the two little humans in that photo. While I do love dinosaurs, I suspect that one sharp corner would send him running for the hills. I’m slightly more durable. Do you know a guy who could benefit from a free health screening?

The Conjuring 2 review, brilliant, well made scares from true tales

Rare is the sequel that surpasses the original. The Conjuring 2 is just that kind of unicorn though. Not only is it better in some ways than the original it does this while being part of the horror genre. Stop right there if the categorization of ‘horror’ puts you off from wanting to see The Conjuring 2 and consider how you might define horror.

Cirque is an amazing thing. Cirque of itself is short for Cirque du Soleil. However, if you simply say Cirque, people know what you’re talking about and what to expect. Within the world of Cirque du Soleil there are traveling shows-all of which have different dynamic personalities. Cirque is an amazing thing. To that, TORUK-The First Flight is coming to Infinite Energy Center from June 15 through Sunday June 19 and here’s your chance to win 4 passes to opening night.

Toruk, cirque, toruk the first flight, avatar, james Cameron, Pandora, cirque de soleil

TORUK-The First Flight is the latest Cirque de Soleil show and dives, or rather flies deep into the mythos of the world created by James Cameron’s AVATAR.  Puppets, aerobatics, physical dynamics and a world class soundtrack, all set to the world of Pandora.

In TORUK-The First Flight the audience gets a front row seat to the Na’vi’s existence on Pandora. It’s all narrated by a “Na’vi” storyteller” and supported by the same stunning costumes and amazing athletics one expects from a Cirque de Soleil show. However, this is thousands of years before humans have set foot on Pandora and a natural catastrophe is threatening the sacred Tree of Souls. Enter the flying mountains set as the backdrop to the artisans of Cirque de Soleil and you’re in for an event that the entire family can get behind.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

This is for a family 4-pack of tickets to opening night, June 15 at Infinite Energy Center to see TORUK-The First Flight. The winner’s name will be left at will call the night of the show.
