Small children are happy, uncontrollable running laboratories for things that adults can no longer get.  Think Jurassic Park on a microbial level and put those tiny ill tempered Pteranadons in your child.  One day our child had a rash around his mouth.  My wife said, “oh, I bet he has hand, foot and mouth disease”.  My immediate thought was hoof and mouth disease and then I remembered that Megadeth addressed this issue in their classic song Hook in Mouth.

Lad’s nads and women with smaller breasts are better mothers

A study came out this past week with the dubious conclusion that men who have smaller testicles are better fathers.   Those findings certainly make for lots of clever headlines and puns involving balls, nads, lads, dads, festival, technical, ethical and the upcoming election.  However, when you dig into the study it leaves room for many questions.  This caused me to make up a study that came to the conclusion that women with smaller breasts are better mothers.* Continue reading Lad’s nads and women with smaller breasts are better mothers

Recovery from a Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy: Melanoma surgery

When you wake up from your Sentinel Lymph Node surgery you’re groggy and won’t remember much.    Groggy is putting it mildly as I couldn’t remember how I got dressed to leave the hospital.  It was an 8 hour bar bender that left me hungry and curious, complete with a stop at Arby’s on the way home.

What to expect from your Melanoma surgery

Recap:  My wife saw a mole on my back and said (in a loving manner) “get that thing checked out”. The dermatologist biopsied it, came back cancerous and here we are for Melanoma surgery. Melanoma is a complex thing- lots of blogs go into detail about what stage is this or what astrological sign that is.
