To some parents Yo-Kai Watch is Greek. it’s that foreign thing that kids dig but parents can’t tell their Yo-Kai from their spectral anomalies. In actuality, Yo-Kai Watch isn’t Greek at all, it’s Japanese. It’s an anime show that took Japan by storm and is now in the U.S. As go the shows, so go the toys and the Yo-Kai Watch toys from Hasbro are here, full of imagination based play-with a touch of collection, mischief and giggles.

The Smurfs on Nintendo 3DS, Smurfing good gaming fun

Hey, we received a copy of the game for review, all thoughts are our own. No Smurfing way. Your favorite friendly blue characters have found themselves in a predicament. They’ve gone for a walk in the forest only to come back and find their entire village destroyed! All of their trademark mushroom houses are reduced to ripped up fungi, as well as the scaled down tables, chairs and everything else. Thankfully they live in a forest where the Smurfs can go out and gather wood, rocks and other materials to build it all again. Or rather, you can rebuild Smurf village and hopefully find out who smashed it all to bits.

Hatched, a movie that was better off in the shell

Families want, and sometimes need entertainment. It’s obviously best if said entertainment is OK for everyone in the family. It’s in that spirit that Hatched is available on DVD. Hatched is a film that will most likely rocket to the bottom of your DVD stack. Unless you’re 6 years old and this is the second movie you’ve see it’s most likely the worst animated film that you’ve seen.

44 minutes of relaxation on Netflix #StreamTeam

We were compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own and these shows really do rock. Relaxation is a prime commodity. There are some weeks where my wife and I don’t get any down time. More often than not we have to schedule the relaxation period. “44 minutes of relaxation?” is our query. I have my shows, she has her shows and we have our shows that we’ll watch on Netflix. It depends on who is able to relax. If I’m solo then it’s Luther, Continuum or other. She’s down with Gilmore Girls (shocker!) and together we really enjoy Person of Interest. There are a couple other shows thought that might just fly below your radar that are worth checking out on Netflix.

Norm of the North review-familiar to adults but kids will like it

On the surface there isn’t much going for Norm of the North. Its theatrical release date is the middle of January, the traditional dumping ground for sub-par family films. The film was originally supposed to go straight to video and the plot goes over grounds that are fodder for animated films. I was prepared to hate it. At the end I was both surprised at the fact that I didn’t hate it and that my wife liked it and the kids loved it.

Raffi is back with Owl Singalong! Alert the 7 and under set

Raffi is not Zamfir. Before becoming a parent I confused the two. Having been a dad for several years now we know Raffi, still don’t know the master of the pan flute-but there’s still time for that. Both individuals have a specific niche that they cater to with a steadfast focus that makes Navy SEALS envious. For kids 7 and under there’s reason to gently celebrate, in a peaceful and mild mannered way, because the new CD from Raffi, Owl Singalong is available for young listeners.

Disney Playmation Marvel Avengers review- digital role playing unleashed

Disney Playmation sounds like-and to an extent looks like, a toy that you’ve seen before. It comes in a big box that you’ll find in the video game isle. The box is big enough to look like it’s a separate console system, but Disney Playmation is a technology based game that encourages kids to stand up, play, use their imaginations, get excited and even get outside. It’s unlike anything you’ve seen before and if kids get the hang of it then it could revolutionize the way they ‘play’ with technology.
