Chocolate: The Consuming Passion is adult funny by Sandra Boynton

Peter Sellers is most famous for playing a simple, some would say dimwitted person. He was also able to work on the adult level by skewing pop culture in Doctor Strange Love and Being There. Dr. Suess wrote and drew on a very simple level that was aimed at children. Suess also has some fabulous art during WWII that worked on a more political, adult level. Both of these artists crossed my mind while reading Chocolate: The Consuming Passion by Sandra Boynton.

Norm Of The North, Atlanta preview tickets and prize giveaway

It’s mid January and you need a good family for the kids to go see. Those cold, winter days sometimes just yell for the comfort of a warm movie theater to quell the busy of kids, we get it. Norm Of The North is it. Our hopes are high for the film because it has Bill Nighy, Rob Schneider, James Corden and Ken Jeong, among others. The cast for Norm is deep and includes many other people, but those four actors have a good track record for being in things that we consistently enjoy.

The Boy Who Spoke to the Earth speaks to kids and more #Giveaway

Surfing in the Arctic Circle is not some people’s idea of fun. I would love to go there, do some camping and hiking, but that cold water is good for salmon or whatever other fish live up there. To nature photographer Chris Burkard that as well as other adventurous places are his office. The Boy Who Spoke to the Earth is a children’s book that he wrote. If you’ve seen his photos then you might expect him to be responsible for the images in the book. However, once you read it you understand why it makes sense that he did the words and David McClellan did the art in this very accessible children’s book.

What’s the best sci-fi on Netflix now? #StreamTeam

We’re part of the #StreamTeam and were compensated for this. OK, the ‘best’ sci-fi on Netflix is open to interpretation. In this specific case we just wanted to highlight a smattering of offerings; a couple that might fly below radar, one or two that are classics and a couple cheesy films that have aged fabulously.

Consider these first two, the Kurt Russell block. In the moment his early to mid 80’s films were topped with the same amount of cheese. However, when you look back at the breadth of his work from that time period, Overboard, The Thing and our first two it’s obvious that he’s an actor’s actor who is often the brightest spot in every film he stars in.
