Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May of every year. Star Wars Day is celebrated every year on May 4. This year May 4, AKA, Star Wars Day falls on the first Saturday in May, which is Free Comic Book Day. It’s two of my favorite ideas ‘Free’ and ‘Star Wars’, both on the same day. Thunderbolts #8, continues to disappoint despite great characters
Thunderbolts should be a comic that I can’t wait to receive in the mail. The first issue started out strong. A rag tag group of anti-heroes, Red Hulk, The Punisher, Elecktra, Deadpool and Venom team up to solve problems that other entities or superheroes can’t. Unfortunately since the 4th issue of Thunderbolts it’s dragged and the art has gotten too big and clunky. Continue reading Thunderbolts #8, continues to disappoint despite great characters
Dad reads Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith: Spiral
It took me a while to warm up to the Star Wars comics, but I’m enjoying them now. Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith-Spiral takes places when The Old Republic is peacefully governing the galaxy. The only trouble that can be found are the battles between the Jedi of old and the Sith. Continue reading Dad reads Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith: Spiral

A messy child meets the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet
Perhaps I shouldn’t say, ‘a messy child’, it’s more accurate to state a child that loves to make a mess. You may have one of them too. When I told him he’d be able to make a mess, on purpose he couldn’t get to The Dogwood Festival quick enough. The folks from Mohawk Flooring had a tent and invited kids (see: anyone) to make a mess on their carpet. Continue reading A messy child meets the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet
David Carter’s 100-a fun, rabbit hole way to learn counting
Our 3.5 year old is just learning how to count past 20. He immediately liked David Carter’s 100 when he saw the book because of the crisp, bright illustrations. I didn’t realize how good the book was though until our 8 year old niece came over and started to look through the book. Continue reading David Carter’s 100-a fun, rabbit hole way to learn counting

Lace Up For Boston is something that was organized three days after the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon.
