Gustafer Yellowgold’s Wisdom Tooth-coming to Duluth on 11/22

Gustafer Yellowgold is a friendly yellow creature that came from the sun.  He lives in the Minnesota woods, as all aliens do, and goes about on magical adventures.  More importantly, Gustafer is the musical storybook that was created by Morgan Taylor.  Gustafer Yellowgold’s Wisdom Tooth of Wisdom is Taylor’s sixth release in the series.  It’s a giddy, laid back journey of light jangle pop that’ll subdue with little effort.  Morgan and Gustafer are coming to Duluth on 11/22 to Red Clay Music Foundry for an all ages show at 11:00 AM.

The Dove Street Festival of Lights returns to Hilton Head Island

In 2010 a beloved 20 year tradition left Hilton Head Island.  The Dove Street Festival of Lights took place on Dove Street and literally lit up the night sky with houses along both sides a blaze with festive holiday lights.  It was a fundraise that gave tens of thousands of dollars each year to The Deep Well Project, in addition to hundreds of memories over that 20 year period.  However, The Dove Street Festival of Lights grew too big for its residential location and went out on a high note.  This year the iconic festival is returning to Hilton Head Island at Shelter Cove Towne Centre from November 28-January 4.

National Geographic Oceans 6-in-1 Laser Pegs, building-light fun

We’ve seen Laser Pegs in the store before.  It’s the building block toy that lights up.  What is unique about most of the sets is that, in addition to lighting up, it can build more than one model.  Some of the kits do 4 creations while others can do up to 57 different things.  We put together the National Geographic Oceans 6-in-1 Laser Pegs and it’s appropriate for 5 and up, with a little assistance.

Nocturna is a magical, animated sleeper for tweens and up

Nocturna is a Spanish language film that was released in 2007.  It garnered a following and they demanded that it be released in English.  Imagine if Guillermo del Torro made a children’s animated movie that had enough creative creepy creatures to slightly scary, but were charming once you got to know them?  That is what I kept thinking while watching Nocturna.  It’s such a sweet film that is so good at creating an alternate world within plain sight that you care about and are interested in the freaky animated characters.

VSP, keeping eyes healthy, happy and more #SeeMuchMore #ad #Giveaway

This is a sponsored post and giveaway.  All thought are our own.  I wear glasses.  When I don’t wear glasses it’s obvious because my eyes squint, after a while I look tired and I’m far less handsome….or so I’m told.  When I was 17 I needed glasses, I expect the same from our children, but they’ve already had their eyes check out.  VSP is the nation’s largest non-profit vision care company  and their members save an average of $330.

The Hot Wheels Race Rewards Program-just in time for the holidays

This is sponsored by Lunchbox but all opinions are my own. Really, as a dad to 2 boys, we know this product. Don’t panic, it’s the holiday season.  If a boy aged 3-13 (and possible 3-103…) then something from Hot Wheels could be in their gift receiving future. As a dad to two boys over 3, I can attest that Hot Wheels are always on the list.  The Hot Wheels Race Rewards Program is awesome because it’s simple, buy, scan and earn.  Just shop at your local Wal-Mart and the Hot Wheels Race Program will be returning wheels to your houses before the checkered flag drops.
