All age comic books for January 27

Happy new comic book day! That happens every Wednesday and there are a couple great all age comic books released each week. This week is great if you’re a Star Wars fan who wants a graphic novel for readers in elementary school and up. Star Wars Adventures is an ongoing series from IDW Publishing and captures the action and fun of a galaxy far away, but keeps the content appropriate for ages seven and up. Most importantly it does this without watering down or babyizing the story. This is a great comic book or graphic novel for libraries too.

This Wednesday is new comic book day and that means that some cool all age comic books will be popping up in your local store. If you’re not sure where your local comic book store is, just visit comic book store locator and type in your zip code.

Normally, Halloween week is one of the busiest of the year for new releases. This year it’s a bit slower than most, but there are still some great all-age comic books for readers in upper elementary school and up. Those elementary school readers, who also like some great art to move the story along are most likely fans of Geronimo Stilton. For those people, Geronimo Stilton Reporter-Paws Off Cheddarface! from Papercutz will be just their jam.

If your reader is just a bit older then check out Mega Man Fully Charged. It’s got more action than Sonic and all of the humor too, it’s a great series for ages 9 and up. For those Iron Giant fans, you need to see X-Ray Robot. Issue #3 of this series is out and has the classic vibe of that movie, plus a very smart plot that will hook middle school readers. This week in all age comic books has lots of our go-to comic books, some cool teen releases, as well as a couple of great board books for those pre-k through kindergarten geeklings. Our favorite and our 11-year-old son’s are Scooby-Doo Where Are You! #106 and The Amazing Spider-Man #50. The former is a classic comic book that’s at home in any elementary school library (or home setting!) and the latter is great for mid-elementary school readers and up (way up!).

Those middle school readers need to check out Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #55 or Jim Henson Dark Crystal Age Resistance #12. Both of these series will have enough action to keep ages 12 and up entertained, as well, as some great dialogue to push the comic forward to a deeper level.

There are also two awesome board books out for geeklings aged three and up (or younger!). Black Widow My First Mighty Marvel Board Book and The Dark Crystal Book of Opposites have those thicker than average pages that pre-K and lower elementary kids want to read. When I was that age the board books weren’t nearly as cool. For the entire list of all age comic books just jump on past the graphic.

All age comic books for August 26

It’s new comic book day this Wednesday and there are a couple really bright spots in all age comic books. The publishing world is still adapting to the schedule that’s been shifting since March. Because of that, one of the funniest and most creative humor books we’ve seen in years is coming to comic book (and other) stores this week. We thought it was released back in the spring, but Attack of the Stuff is finally coming to stores. It’s from author/illustrator Jim Benton and is absolutely hilarious. It’s weird, might take a moment to get some of the jokes, but is one of the best graphic novels that you’ll pick up this year.

In all age comic books UnderDog will be just the sort of all age escapism for elementary aged readers. Those upper elementary (and up) kids will love Marvel Action Captain Marvel TPB Vol. 2 and The Amazing Spider-Man #47. If they’re a little more cerebral and want something more indie, check out Usagi Yojimbo #12. This series is all action, being made into a Netflix series and has a samurai rabbit. It’s also one of the best all age comic books that you’ll see on a regular basis.

Happy New Comic Book Day for the first time in two months. If you’ve been wondering what’s up with all of the comic books, much less the all age comic books it’s a long story. Essentially the world of comic books has one major distribution channel and if that goes sideways then nothing can be released. Nerdrotic does a fabulous job of explaining the business side of comic books on the Youtube channel.

So, there are some new all age comic books out this week, but it’s just a handful of them. Namely, we’re excited about reading Star Wars Adventures Clone Wars, Jim Henson Storyteller Ghosts and Looney Tunes. However, there are also some comics out there for the humor or Disney people.

Where is your closest comic book store? Visit Comic Book Store Locator and type in your zip code. It’ll pull up any store that’s close to you and they sure could use your support right now.

All age comic books for March 25

New comic book day still happens for this week. Some publishers have announced when they’re new comic books will stop, slow down and how they’ll handle orders. Stock up this week and monitor their individual websites to see how they handle shipments. We’ll have more on that in a podcast.

For this week there are some great all age comic books that will entertain readers as young as seven and all the way through high school. What’s more, many of the comic book stores offer online ordering and physical pickup-with delivery to your car once you arrive at the store. If you plan this trip when you’re doing the weekly grocery shopping it’s a win/win situation.

The Giant series from DC Comics is great for introducing under the radar titles or characters. From Beyond The Unknown Giant is just that for us, we don’t know it, it looks loaded with action and is sure to entertain readers in middle school and up. Elementary school readers will want to read Sonic The Hedgehog #27 and Marvel Action Avengers #1. That same age group should check out Super Duck from Archie Comics.

New comic book day (NCBD) is nigh, it’s always on Wednesday and this week has a handful of very cool all age comic books. In the podcast we’ll go in a bit more detail as to why Star Wars Adventures, Sonic the Hedgehog, Magnificent Ms. Marvel and a couple others need to be on your radar for comic books that are great for younger readers. If you’ve got a true Disney Princess fan in your house then Disney Cinderella: The Story of the Movie in Comics from Dark Horse Comics is something you should look into. The text might be a big challenging for younger readers, but if they’re really into this tale then it’s a can’t miss graphic novel. One great monthly comic book that might be under your radar is Magnificent Ms. Marvel. This week has the second printing of #11 from that series. Anytime a fun or cool comic book gets a second print run we like to feature it here. The third run from issue #1 of the Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team up that’s happening now has just been released. That team up is great and one of the best things we’re reading now. Without further ado, here are all of this week’s all age comic books.

This Wednesday is new comic book day, #NCBD if you’re posting on social media and this is a great week for all age comic books. In the podcast we’ll talk in depth about Lumberjanes, Ghostbusters, Uncle Scrooge and our son’s favorite comic book. Also out this week is Cosmo The Mighty Martian on Archie Comics. This is a great ongoing series that will appeal to elementary school fans who want something fun and cool to read. The comic book is loaded with colors, sharp writing and lots of action. If your library likes Sonic then they’ll really enjoy Cosmo.
