The Monsterator is a worthy add to your child’s book shelf

Our criteria for a great good-night book are that it should be short enough to read a couple of times and have great illustrations.  If it has rhyming words in it then it’s bonus.  The Monsterator by Keith Graves meets all of those and more.  It was immediately enjoyed by everyone in the house for several reasons.

CatDog, the complete series hits DVD exclusively at Wal-Mart

Millennia from now when people dig up entertainment time capsules from the 90’s they might, depending on the size of the capsule, find the complete series of CatDog in there.  CatDog aired on Nickelodeon from 1998-2005 and has that look of Ren and Stimpy without being as crude, for better or worse.  It’s the tell-tale animation that looks distinctive, rough and usually has characters with lots of moxie.

Create moving videos and quality photos with #GoProatBestBuy @BestBuy #ad

We were compensated in the form of a Best Buy Gift Card and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free.  As a camera guy who is relatively athletic I really admire action shots from quality cameras.  It’s such an art that I hesitate to call them gadgets, but they are electronics and more often than not that will be the default description.  I see the images and videos from the latest GoPro cameras and they’re more than a gadget.  It’s a quality, action oriented camera that moves with you where things are really moving.

Adventure Time #32 is (almost) all age comic weirdness

Kaboom Studios makes some of the best all age comic books on the market.  From Garfield, Herobear, Peanuts to Regular Show and others they put out a great variety of books.  Adventure Time is as inventive, creative, weird and wonderful as the television show.  There is nothing objectionable to young readers and the sole reason for putting (almost) in the title is that younger readers won’t be able to follow the plot.

The craisin on the floor of my permanent record

Permanent record.  That’s a scary phrase growing up isn’t it?  Especially in junior high school, the mere thought of something going on your permanent record was enough to scare me and most of my friends straight.  Now that I’m a parent the craisin, AKA, the dried cranberry is something our kids love, but have become the bane of our cleaning life.

Moms with Apps-mandatory for parents with kids & technology #Ad

This post is brought to you by Moms with Apps and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.  For years I browsed the app store and Google Play in search of the best apps for our kids.  I downloaded dozens, nay, perhaps hundreds of apps looking for ones that would teach or entertain our children.  I look at our tablets now and there are only three apps- out of all of those that they still play regularly. Some of the apps were awful from the get go, while others simply lost their mojo or had windows where the kids could purchase things.  Moms with Apps changes all of that by sorting, organizing and classifying apps according to a myriad of categories.

As a group or Han Solo, life’s better in costume with Buy Costumes #ad

This is a sponsored post.  All thoughts are our own.  We don’t normally do theme costumes as a family.  However this is the first year that our oldest has really expressed an interest and his younger brother is following suit.  Previously the eldest was lukewarm to dressing up, but loved looking like an animal.  It was at a parade last year where he realized that if he dressed up and looked the part, then people will give or in that case, throw more candy his way.

This year we built the family costume around his costume choice at Buy Costumes.
