The Pirate Fairy is solid, staple entertainment from Disney

The Pirate Fairy is a movie that children, especially girls 3-10 will thoroughly enjoy.  That is not to say that boys won’t like it, but they may start watching the movie thinking that it’s mainly a pirate movie.  The pirates enter The Pirate Fairy 34 minutes into it and are there for the rest of it.  However, make no mistake about it, this is a fairy movie akin to Secret of the Wings.

Win tickets to Georgia Aquarium for a family of 4

Every city has its peaks and valleys.  One of the peaks of living near Atlanta is being so close to Georgia Aquarium.  We have annual passes there and visit at least once a month.  I also worked at the world’s largest theme park (Walt Disney World) for a couple of years and know a thing or two about getting the most out of a visit to an attraction.   With spring break coming up here are some tips and a chance to win tickets to Georgia Aquarium for a family of 4.

Cautionary Fables and Fairy Tales: Africa Edition review

Cautionary Fables and Fairy Tales: Africa Edition is 15 African fables drawn in a way that modern comic audiences can enjoy.   Fables just sound old, musty and not at all interesting to some people.  Parable doesn’t sound much more interesting either.  However, Cautionary Fables and Fairy Tales manages to make all of these fairy tales and fables fun, teach some lessons and does it all with varied artwork.

American #DreamBuilders $50 @Lowes gift card from @NBCDreambuilder

I’m a DIY guy.  I also know my limitations.  That deck that I build 10 years ago?  Yeah, I should’ve had someone else do that.  The deck is still strong, but it’s not the deck that I wanted.  It was then that I learned my limitations.  Our home is great and there are changes that I’d like, but they’re in a line of things to do-for now.  American Dream Builders is a new show on NBC and they’re giving away lots of cash, services from Lowes and a consultation from the winner of the show.

Extreme Dinosaurs review: Hands on enjoyment for kids

4 years old is a hot age for children and dinosaurs.  They know dinosaur songs, the names of more big ones than I remember and seemingly can’t get enough of them.  Extreme Dinosaurs is a new exhibit at Atlantic Station in Atlanta that has 17 audioanimatronic dinos that snarl, move and do things that will make children’s eyes open wide.

Ideas for Getting the Jump on Spring Cleaning #Spon

Although spring was officially here last week, we’ve been doing some cleaning for a while now.  Granted you’re always cleaning your house.  It’s that spring cleaning that sometimes drags us down because we’re supposed to clean the deep, forgotten areas.  In my monthly post for SC Johnson I touched on a couple areas and ways to clean them that will pay off later.

Snuggle The Baby: interactive toddler laughs and education

The cover for Snuggle The Baby confused me at first.  Without reading the press release I dived right in and looked it over.  I don’t get it, I thought after going through it once.  I then went to the front and back cover and clearly understood what the book was trying to accomplish.  “An interactive book!” it says on the front and “includes gentle instructions…..for practice and play” on the back.  Boom, now I get it, you do too don’t you?
