Review & giveaway: Angry Birds Star Wars AT-AT Attack Battle Game

It truly is a week for outstanding combinations.  To help review the Angry Birds Star Wars I was provided with, I arranged a gaggle of children aged 3-10 to come over the house and play.  Well, the 3 year old lives here, the game is intended for ages 5 and up; but I couldn’t very kick my son out of the house for a couple hours while we play with Angry Birds Star Wars could I? Free Comic Book Day and Star Wars Day are on the same day this year, May 4

Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May of every year.  Star Wars Day is celebrated every year on May 4.  This year May 4, AKA, Star Wars Day falls on the first Saturday in May, which is Free Comic Book Day.  It’s two of my favorite ideas ‘Free’ and ‘Star Wars’, both on the same day. Thunderbolts #8, continues to disappoint despite great characters

Thunderbolts should be a comic that I can’t wait to receive in the mail.  The first issue started out strong.  A rag tag group of anti-heroes, Red Hulk, The Punisher, Elecktra, Deadpool and Venom team up to solve problems that other entities or superheroes can’t.  Unfortunately since the 4th issue of Thunderbolts it’s dragged and the art has gotten too big and clunky. It took me a while to warm up to the Star Wars comics, but I’m enjoying them now.  Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith-Spiral takes places when The Old Republic is peacefully governing the galaxy.  The only trouble that can be found are the battles between the Jedi of old and the Sith. Continue reading Dad reads Star Wars: Lost Tribe of the Sith: Spiral

The moment when a child knows what you’re thinking

Children are a fabulous, compact, confusing version of us.  What they see and do may not immediately be proof of them being from you.  Stop for a moment, twist what they’re saying, pronounce it like Urkel from Family Matters would and you just might understand what they’re trying to tell you. Continue reading The moment when a child knows what you’re thinking

A messy child meets the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet

Perhaps I shouldn’t say, ‘a messy child’, it’s more accurate to state a child that loves to make a mess.  You may have one of them too.  When I told him he’d be able to make a mess, on purpose he couldn’t get to The Dogwood Festival quick enough.  The folks from Mohawk Flooring had a tent and invited kids (see: anyone) to make a mess on their carpet.
