Making #DadTime with Lowes and home improvement

I have partnered with Life of Dad and Lowe’s for this promotion. One of my best early memories of my dad was when he helped out at my elementary school. The classes were building wooden toy cars and he was there helping put them together. That was one of the first things I remembered when he told my wife that I was always better than him at fixing things. He sends me indirect praise through my wife like that, he’s old school. Now that our kids are getting older I’m doing my best to include them in some quality #DadTime Lowes projects around the house so that I can tell the same thing to their wives in 20 or 30 years.

I jest, I’ll tell them to their faces that they’ll never be able to fix things as well as I can.

Free Men’s Health Screening at Sam’s Club on 6/11

Hey, we were compensated by Sam’s Club, all thoughts are our own. This Saturday, June 11 your local Sam’s Club locations are having free men’s health screenings. Two of my main reasons for caring about my health are in that photo. To be clear, it’s the two little humans in that photo. While I do love dinosaurs, I suspect that one sharp corner would send him running for the hills. I’m slightly more durable. Do you know a guy who could benefit from a free health screening?

Hardworking dads, #Smellegendary on Father’s Day with Old Spice

I have partnered with Life of Dad and Old Spice for this promotion.  Father’s Day is nigh. Here’s what dads want. Well, it’s what most of us want, or rather we don’t want. We don’t want fluff. No doilies, throw pillows, tulle or rosemary. Having said that; we also don’t want to smell bad and to that end Old Spice can help you-or your dad, husband, partner or coworker* #Smellegendary. We’re giving away a toolbox full of things that will help a guy smell good, get dirty, be cool and keep organized for the Hardest Working Dad around.

Hard working dad doesn’t’ shower daily, still #Smellegendary with Old Spice

I partnered with Life of Dad and Old Spice for this promotion. I fell asleep during my son’s karate class today. Last night I worked until midnight, woke up at 6AM, made lunch, breakfast, got the kids to school, worked in the morning and then picked up one of them from school at 11:00. It was his intention to go home and play the Shark Game, but I needed to go to the gym and work out. Suddenly it’s 12:30 PM and I still had to go grocery shopping, do the dishes, fold the laundry and fry the bacon up in a pan-which I would promptly eat. This is the typical day of the Hardest Working Dad. However, because I care for those around me I elected not to smell malodorous I used Old Spice Dirt Destroyer in the shower (no photos from that one-lest ye be 21, pay off our mortgage or go to our non-existent dark web site). On the contrary, I #Smellegendary.  Like marinara sauce on your pizza we also used Old Spice Odor Blocker under the arms-you can’t prove that it’s there, but once you taste it-or don’t smell me in this case, you believe it.

A #Heart2Heart with Pop, wishful thinking and lifestyle choices

Hey, I partnered with Life of Dad and Meta Wellness for this promotion. My dad is not a talker. I’m not a talker either but compared to him I’m Leo Getz. It’s an exercise of patience just to get him to tell me anything beyond how the weather is. Mind you, it is not because he’s not of sound mind, he is just not a talker. Our average phone call lasts about 5 minutes. The Heart 2 Heart campaign is all about men having health conversations with their loved ones. Knowing all of this I called my dad to talk about his health.

My health is better than average; thanks to my wife and my father, both of whom  assisted me using opposite methods. My wife is more of the conversationalist, let’s talk-figure out the problem and not repeat it in the future. I love to watch her and my father talk. He squirms like a worm looking for a wet pile of mud to go hide in.

Choosing your Old Spice #Smelliment is a win/win for all

Hey, I have partnered with Life of Dad and Old Spice for this promotion. You’ve seen the ads online. They’re the frantic, kinetic, over-the-top ads for Old Spice that star Isaiah Mustafa and Terry Crews. Crews was all about Bearglove while Mustafa is the softer, but still strong side with Swagger and Timber. But still strong is key, because dudes certainly do not want to smell like a billy goat, but we don’t want to smell like a patchouli leaf, even if our name is herb. Mustafa and Crews called a truce in their epic series of ads and we got the chance to speak with Mustafa about it.

Sometimes it’s as simple as a kind word

I’m a Sisterhood of the Motherhood Partner and was compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own. Many times, OK, quite often, my wife is correct. Husbands, it’s OK for you to say that, ditto the wives out there, your husband is quite often, correct. We were at the dinner table the other day with the children when I sarcastically entered into a conversation that we needed to have. I forget what started it, but the crux of the conversation was simply telling the other one something nice about them.

We say ‘please’, ‘thank you’ and other pleasantries around the house. That’s just basic manners that we want our children to learn after us. To quote the wrestling philosopher, Ric Flair, ‘talk the talk, walk the walk’.

The new film from Sisterhood of the Motherhood adds to the chorus of #EndmommyWars

I’m a Sisterhood of the Motherhood Partner and was compensated for this post. All thoughts are our own.  There’s a heavyset parent at our school whose arms are covered in tattoos, the even have a couple on their neck. They drop them off in an older model car whose muffler obviously needs to be replaced. The car has a rainbow flag bumper sticker, the ‘namaste’ one, NRA decal and animal rescue too. It’s a train wreck of lifestyles and organizations that only coexists on bumpers and in the minds of those I don’t relate to.  The child seems normal and happy; I see them sometimes when I eat lunch with my child. However, I never see their other parent and the tattoo laden driver is never in the school helping out. Plus they look just a little too young to have a child the same age as ours, but here’s what’s really surprising about this person.
