Of course we had heard about them, the birth certificates, accessories and squeals of laughter that accompany such landmark days. We went to our local Build-A-Bear recently to help celebrate the launch of the Lalaloopsy Dolls. Josh & the Jamtones latest succeeds despite its weak premise

Rocksteady, the latest release by Josh & the Jamtones is an energetic, happy mash up of ska, rock and pop that kids will love. If you listen to Sirius XM or visit Chuck E. Cheese you’ve heard their music for sure. However, when I first heard the CD I couldn’t stand it. Many listens later I’ve learned to like it while our kids really like the music, let me explain what made us change our mind.

Rent LEGO sets from Pley-worry free about lost bricks

The yin yang of LEGO is that they are awesome. Literally everything is awesome when you’re building and playing with LEGO. The yang is that if you lose a piece to one of the set you risk not having it stay together. The sibling that intentionally hides a piece or two so that the older one can’t finish it, the dog that tasted spaghetti sauce or the sofa that ‘eats’ them-there is a reason the small pieces disappear. Pley is a company that rents LEGO sets. If you lose a piece, no problem, just let them know and you won’t be charged for it.

New All Age Comic Books for Wednesday, August 26, 2015

Dig the hint of fall in the air and that means Dragon Con is near! September 4-7 in downtown Atlanta is one of the biggest cosplay extravaganzas that you’ll see. Hundreds of panels on big name movies, the tv shows that you love, games, costumes and so much more. The parade on Saturday is a must see, as are any of the panels, but you’ll have a hoot just walking around the area. Some of the hotels will require identification to get into, the entire weekend is packed with about 65,000 in town, so bring your patience. Now-on with the new all age comic books this week!

If you’re looking proof of how giddy and fun an all age comic can be just check out the preview for Adventure Time. Finn and Jake break into Party God’s yacht to try to clear their names. For ages 8 and up this is sheer silliness that will have them laughing, even that made me chuckle. Dreamwork’s Classics, Ghostbusters Get Real #3, Jimbo Jones, Over the Garden Wall, two old-school Peanuts re-releases and much more come out. It is a busy week for all age comics and a great chance to get into a title that suits your reader’s age and personality.

Princeless Be Yourself is a great fantasy comic that kids 8 and up will like. Surely you (or especially your daughter) is reading Lumberjanes? It’s an all age comic that is great for anyone, but especially so for that demographic. There are also three Star Wars cooking appliances that are out of this world awesome, how about an AT-AT and Star Destroyer Ice Cube tray?

Back to school viewing on Netflix #StreamTeam

Enter National Park Service free on 8/25 #FindYourPark

We’re big fans of getting outside. The kids like to hike, but still complain on the uphill parts and try to go too quickly when they go down. One thing about getting outside is that it is a parenting win. Everyone gets exercise, they burn off some sillies and mom/dad can get refreshed. To celebrate the 99^th birthday of the National Park Service they’re waiving all entry fees into their parks on 8/25/15.
