New all age comic books for Wednesday, February 25, 2015

There are lots of new all age comic books to love this week.  Some are new school like Doodle Jump, Penguins of Madagascar and Futurama.  Some classics like Archie or Betty and Veronica are getting a MAJOR art overhaul in the near future, stay tuned for that.  Angry Birds Transformers and the final issue of Transformers: Drift Empire of Stone to name a few.

Naptime DIY: Apply pre-emergent to your lawn

Every early spring my lawn is a multi-colored mess of dandelions, chickweeds, crab grass and other malcontents that dominate the space for three to four weeks.  Because the Bermuda grass in our yard is established it will choke out the weeds once spring finally finds its groove.  I know that all you have to do is to apply some pre-emergent and it will help contain and possibly prevent crabgrass from rearing its head.  Here is what we’ve learned from our research and practical application.

Brainzy from Education.com is perfect for kids 3-7

Our kids are 3 and 5, when Education.com asked if we wanted to evaluate Brainzy, it was well, a no-brainer.  Brainzy is their latest online learning program that builds reading, math and computer skills for children 3-7.  See it’s a great fit for us, but is the game really educational for the kids?

New All Age Comic Books for Wednesday, February 18, 2015

It’s cold and there are some nice all age comic books to bring the reading heat to your young readers this week. There aren’t too many new titles, but the ones that are coming out are diverse and represent something for every age and gender.

We’re excited about Peanuts, Regular Show, The Simpsons and Terrible Lizard.  Old school Mad Magazine fans will want to check out Groo: Friends and Foes, as well as Jim Hensons Dark Crystal trade paperback.

My shirt is 100% cotton, doesn’t have that annoying tag that sticks into your neck and is as soft and cozy as the dark side is evil .  The same goes for my wife’s shirt, except that it hearkens back (30 year?!) to when the Goonies first appeared and made Chunk the hero that he is.  Win one of each of these shirts so that you and someone special can kick it old school.
